The digitalisation of logistical systems

Theme:

Data management systems in logistics allow the digital exchange of information about goods, whether it is their condition of transport, their location, or their documentary data. These analyses, some of which are provided in real time, allow a better flow of the exchanges and a reduction of the costs related to the supply chain.

Speakers:

Michel Fallah, Founder and President of Traxen:

An engineer specialising in signal processing and conditioning who was attracted by the development and promotion of new concepts, Michel began his career at GEMALTO where he developed contactless cards and RFID activity. In 2012, he created the company TRAXENS to design and operate, on a global scale, a platform for monitoring and coordinating multimodal freight containers. TRAXENS enables shippers to perfect the automation of their supply chain. Among other things, TRAXENS services accelerate logistic flows, promote ecological modes of transport and facilitate the traceability of goods.

Jaap Van Den Hoogen, Chairman of the Executive Board of Marseille Gyptis International:

Jaap van den Hoogen began his career in shipping with a broker in Amsterdam. He moved in Marseille in 1978 to open an office Nedlloyd, Dutch shipping company, which became the regional office for the Mediterranean a few years later. After having worked 23 for this shipowner, he became Managing Director of Marseille agency, CMA-CGM, experiencing first-hand the incredible growth of the group, which became the third largest global shipowner.

Very involved in the associative life, Jap has served several in several positions: President of the AACN (Association of Agents and Consignees of Ships) from 2007 to 2015; Vice-President of FACAM (Federation of Consignees Associations of Ships and Maritime Agents of France); Vice-President of UMF, member of the development council at the Grand Port Maritime of Marseille, and Vice-Chairman of the MGI supervisory board.

In 2015, he was appointed chairman of the executive board of MGI, an SSII that specialised in the development and implementation of Cargo Community Systems (CCS). Now the company is going in a new direction with developing a new generation of CCS integrating innovations related to Big Data, IA, Blockchain, and IoT, designed to go even further in the traceability of the goods and the performance of the port, airport and land communities.
