Two Kedgers launch Ligne, the first brand of tennis clothes made in France and eco-responsible!

After almost two years of work and research, Marianne and Cécile (Class of 2019) have just launched Ligne’s first collection of tennis clothes for men and women.

WHO ARE THEY?

Marianne and Cécile met in their third year at KEDGE on the Marseille campus. "Within the first few days of the school year, we found ourselves together in the same work group. Since then, we have grown and matured together throughout our years of study. And now, we are much more than just school friends!”

Although they are both very similar, their backgrounds are pretty different. Cécile, who is more attracted to international trade and innovation, always wanted to be an entrepreneur and specialised in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation programme in the first year of her Masters. Marianne, on the other hand, has always been passionate about sport and focused her studies on tennis and sport business. For the record, she started at KEDGE by joining the Diambars association, which combined sport and social issues.

DISCOVER AND SUPPORT THE PROJECT

Upon completing their studies, Marianne and Cécile wanted to create something that would have an impact and that would help the planet. As sportswomen and tennis players, "we realised that it was difficult, almost impossible, to find tennis clothes that were produced locally and in a sustainable way. So we had to choose between replacing our clothes or staying true to our values and our desire to consume better”.

So they decided to combine their two worlds and create Ligne: the first eco-responsible and Made In France tennis brand to be worn on and off the court.

Ligne was born from the union of two passions and universes, tennis and fashion, with the aim of keeping the impact on the environment to a minimum. The products are completely made in France with specialised fabrics made from recycled plastic waste.

The clothes are designed for use in sports, but the design is specially designed to be worn on an everyday basis. This first collection contains :

  • Womenswear: a body suit and skirt;
  • Menswear: a polo and shorts;
  • Accessories: a cap and headband.

Presales of this first collection can be ordered on Ulule until 7 October. Production will begin at the end of the campaign, and orders delivered projected for November.
