8 KEDGE graduates recognised in the arts and culture sector!

Director, actor, producer, and even an e-marketing project manager. Discover the profiles of these 8 KEDGE graduates who work in the field of arts and culture.

Have you always been interested in the arts and culture industry and want to know where the opportunities and leads are?

To help answer this question, KEDGE Alumni has compiled a non-exhaustive list of Kedgers from various backgrounds who have succeeded in making their mark in the arts and culture industry, a sector that is constantly.

With more than 1,200 museums, 2,000 art galleries, nearly 6,000 cinemas, and innumerable monuments and cultural sites, France is one of the richest countries in terms of culture and heritage. To ensure the smooth running of the activities of these institutions and other cultural entities, the professions in the arts and culture sector are increasingly varied. This diversity has been further stimulated by the digital revolution, which is also impacting the cultural field.

This rapidly expanding sector is defined by a new aesthetic, entrepreneurial, and cosmopolitan capitalism.  Since 2004, thanks to the expertise of its Creative Industries and Culture Research Center, KEDGE has made it possible for its students to specialise in the management of the arts, culture, and creative industries - first through a specialised course as part of the Grande Ecole Programme curriculum, and now through the Arts & Creative Industries Management MSc programme

#1 MARINE BARNÉRIAS - AUTHOR OF THE BOOK SEPER HERO, TV PRESENTER AT FRANCE TELEVISIONS, AND PRODUCER OF THE FILM "ROSY”

Marine Barnérias graduated from KEDGE Marseille in 2015. Her master degree gave her the specialisation in the management of innovation in services, crisis management, and marketing in addition to managing people and teams.

At the age of 21, her life was turned upside down when doctors diagnosed her with multiple sclerosis (MS). This autoimmune disease affects the central nervous system and causes lesions that lead to motor, sensory, and cognitive impairments. In the more or less long term, these problems can progress to an irreversible disability. A fighter and energetic, Marine would not let herself be defeated. She decided to give up everything to undertake an exceptional journey she called "Seper Hero".

Upon her return, she started writing an autobiography and in June 2018, she became a host on France Télévisions' Magazine Littoral. In 2020, while working on several other projects, Marine created Bota.tv - an innovative model for conferences that focuses exclusively on the experience and dialogue between participants.

And her crown achievement released in early 2022? After a successful book on the subject, Marine Barnérias has just released a film chronicling her history with multiple sclerosis, a disease she calls "Rosy" and for which the documentary was named. The film was released on the 5th of January. You can watch the trailer here.

#2 THOMAS PAQUEREAU – INTERNATIONAL SALES MANAGER - PATHÉ FILMS

Thomas Paquereau completed the Creative Industries Programme at KEDGE and was intent on gaining corporate experience in the cultural sector.

When he started his end of studies internship at Pathé, he was quickly hired as an International Sales Manager. His job is to sell the international rights to films produced by Pathé in several countries. This activity includes participating in "film markets" where buyers and sellers from around the world meet, often in parallel with well-known festivals (Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, etc.). The company’s strategy is built around these events. Each new film can be sold at different stages of its production (filming, marketing, or upon completion), to be distributed through different types of media (cinema, television, video-on-demand, etc.).

"Each film is a prototype evolving in an industry of enthusiasts. This leads to stimulating discussions, which is the real beauty of my job", said Thomas.

Pathé is one of Europe's leading producers and distributors of motion pictures. The group has cinemas in France as well as in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, and Tunisia. The company was created in the early days of film and celebrated its 125th-anniversary last year. Building on its rich history, Pathé markets an extensive film catalogue with some dozen new productions added each year. In addition to releasing new Pathé productions, the Pathé teams have carried out extensive preservation and restoration work on certain works since 2012, thus giving the public the opportunity to discover, or rediscover, the great classics of French and international cinema.
